Our cozy, fully equipped Matarangi Accommodation is perfect for couples and solo explorers looking for comfort, convenience, and a relaxing coastal escape.

Nightly Rates

One Night Stay: NZ $210
Two Nights or More: Just NZ $180 per night — enjoy more time to unwind and save while you do.
During the period 23 December to 5th January a three night minimum stay applies
Payment by Direct Credit, Credit Card or Visa Debit
50% deposit required for bookings. Full payment required 7 days prior to your stay.
Deposit refundable up to 14 days prior to your stay.

Check-In / Check-Out

Check-in from 1pm-9pm. If you are arriving later than this, please contact us in advance to arrange a late check-in.

Check-out time before 10am please

If you require earlier check-in or later check-out, we will accommodate if possible, based on guest bookings.

Maximum 2 adults

Cancellation Policy

For free cancellation and 100% refund at least 14 days’ notice must be given.

Cancellation within 7-14 days may incur loss of your deposit, or 50% refund if full tariff already paid.

Cancellation within 7 days and you may be charged for the entire stay.

No parties, events, or gatherings of more than 4 people.
No loud noise between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM
No smoking or vaping inside the cabin

The ranch slider, that gives you a wonderful view across the lake to the golf course, has an insect screen if needed. As do the windows.

No kitchenette, but a Weber BBQ is available on request. Your room has plates and cutlery. The Dunes restaurant and Pipers cafe are 2 minutes drive or a short walk.

While the cabin doesn’t include a kitchenette or sink, all used dishes will be washed for you daily.

Your room service includes daily towel change.

Whether you’re planning a quick overnight visit or settling in for a longer stay, you’ll enjoy warm Kiwi hospitality, a clean and comfortable cabin located at the rear of the property for privacy, and the perfect base to explore the Coromandel.

How far is Matarangi from nearby attractions like New Chum Beach and Whitianga?

Matarangi is centrally located on the Coromandel’s east coast. New Chum Beach is only a 10–15 minute drive to Whangapoua, followed by a short scenic walk. Whitianga is around 30–35 minutes away by car and offers shops, supermarkets, dining, The Lost Spring hot pools, and the ferry to Ferry Landing.

Is the cabin fully self-contained?

Yes — the cabin includes a private bathroom with shower, toilet, a comfortable queen bed, air conditioning, fridge, and tea/coffee-making facilities. You also have your own private deck overlooking The Dunes Golf Course and 7th tee lake.

Where can I eat out nearby?

There are plenty of great food options within 10–30 minutes. Matarangi has The Dunes restaurant and Pipers Cafe, both just a short walk.

Kuaotunu’s famous Lukes Kitchen is about 12 minutes away by road. Whitianga offers a wide range of cafés, bars, restaurants, and supermarkets, and is just 35 minutes drive.

There is also a very well stocked Four Square locally in Matarangi, as well as a local liquor shop.

Is the area suitable for walking, biking, or relaxing outdoors?

Absolutely. Matarangi is known for its long white-sandy beach, calm atmosphere, and wide, bike-friendly tracks. You can enjoy beach walks, golf at The Dunes, explore nearby bush tracks, walk around the many footpaths that intertwine Matarangi or simply unwind on your cabins private deck with views over the lake and golf course.

What should I bring for my stay?

Bring beach gear, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, and any food or extras you’d like for your stay. Most things can be purchased in Whitianga, just 30 minutes away.

Locally there is a well stocked Four Square for all essentials. The cabin provides bedding, towels, basic toiletries, milk, tea, coffee, plates, cutlery and cups.
