Welcome to Matarangi Cabins. By booking a stay or using this website, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before confirming your reservation.
Matarangi Cabins is a privately owned, single accommodation cabin located in Matarangi, Coromandel, New Zealand. We offer casual short-term stays for guests looking for a quiet and comfortable getaway.
Bookings are confirmed once payment is received through our website or agreed payment method.
Prices listed include GST unless stated otherwise.
You must be 18 years or older to make a booking.
You agree to provide accurate contact details at the time of booking.
Check-in: From 1:00pm to 9pm
Check-out: By 10:00am please
Early check-in or late check-out may be available on request if there are no departing or arriving guests on the same day. If you are arriving after 9pm please advise the day before your arrival.
Cancellations more than 14 days before arrival: Full refund.
Cancellations within 7-14 days of arrival: 50% refund
Cancellations within within 7 of arrival or no-shows: No refund.
If unforeseen circumstances such as Coromandel road closures, require us to cancel your booking, a full refund will be offered.
By staying at Matarangi Cabins, you agree to:
Treat the cabin, furnishings, and property with care.
Report any accidental damage or maintenance issues promptly.
Keep noise to a reasonable level, especially between 10pm and 7am.
Ensure only the number of guests stated on the booking stay overnight.
Keep all personal belongings secure. We are not responsible for lost items.
Complete a Guest Agreement prior to or on arrival. I copy can be found here
No pets allowed on the property at any time
No children permitted on the property
No parties, events, or gatherings of more than 4 people.
No loud noise between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM
No smoking or vaping inside the cabin
We respect your privacy.
Any personal information collected during booking is used only for reservation management, communication, and legal requirements.
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties unless required by law.
The cabin includes a heat pump / air conditioning unit for heating and cooling.
Guests must follow all safety instructions and use equipment responsibly.
In the event of an emergency, call 111 (For all New Zealand emergency services).
We have a local volunteer fire brigade who are first responders to all emergency calls. Some members of that team are also highly trained St Johns paramedics in their “day job”. So rest assured for medical emergencies we are well catered for. There is also a St Johns Ambulance and Wespac Rescue helicopter based in Whitianga, for more serious events.
The local Matarangi Beach is generally safe to swim at all year round, but we do suggest that you do not swim alone at any time. Just be aware that from time to time the incoming swells can produce large waves..
Matarangi Cabins and its owners are not liable for:
Personal injuries resulting from misuse of the property or facilities.
Loss or damage to guest belongings.
Events beyond our control (weather, power outages, road closures, etc.).
Your stay is at your own risk.
By using our website, you agree not to:
Copy or misuse any content, images, or branding.
Attempt to interfere with website functionality or security.
Use automated tools to scrape content without permission.
We may update these Terms of Service at any time. The latest version will always be posted on this page.
